The Central Florida Suns, a 9 and under team, made a strong debut playing up in the 10 and under division in the Nations Winter State Championship. The team went 2-0 on day one of the tournament, defeating the Merritt Island Rockets 13-1 and the Central Florida Woodrats 14-8. The 2 wins in pool play secured the Suns the #1 overall seed going into bracket play. In game 1 of Sunday's bracket play, the Suns deafeated a tough Winter Haven Wildcats 5-2 to advance to the semfinal. 

 

The Suns faced off against the BPA Young Guns in the semifinal game. The game was a tough battle with the Young Guns squeaking out a 5-4 victory against the younger Suns team. The Suns had a chance to win the game, but left the tieing and winning runs on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the sixth.
