The Suns are gearing up for the 2014 spring/summer season. They will be opening the season with a tournament this weekend. The Suns will be competing in the 10u division as a 9u team in the Nations Winter State Championship. By playing in the 10u division, the players will get the opportunity to play "open bases" to work on leading off and holding runners. This will prepare the team for the USSSA Super NIT tournament in Newberry, FL. That tournament is a qualifying tournament for the USSSA Elite 32 World Series, which is an ultimate goal for the Suns this year. 

 

The Suns will begin pool play Saturday in the Nations Winter State Championship by facing the Merritt Island Rockets in game 1 on Saturday at 9:00 am at Apopka's Northwest Sports Complex and then faceoff against the Central Florida Woodrats in game 2 at 10:50 am.

Sundays bracket play will depend on how the Suns do in games 1 and 2 on Saturday.
